Olga Mastela,Associate Professor in the Chair for Translation Studies and Intercultural Communication since 2017. In 2002, she received a Diploma in the Introduction to French and European Law from the University of Poitiers and the University of Warsaw. In 2003, she completed her MA programme with honours at the Institute of Applied Linguistics (ILS), University of Warsaw, specialising in translation in two pairs of languages: English-Polish and French-Polish. In 2009, she received her PhD degree in linguistics. The academic background combined with 15 years of experience as a freelance translator and reviser for the EU institutions as well as Polish national and regional institutions including the Polish Press Agency, the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences and many Polish museums allows her to conduct courses in: English-Polish and Polish-English translation of museum texts and literary texts, translation quality management and ISO standards for Language Service Providers, French-Polish general, journalistic, commercial and legal translation, as well as MA seminars in translation studies.
